Yartambellos is defintely quite unique. A Cinsault varietal is relatively rare. This single vineyard micro vinification is the result of a successful collaboration between glass artist Yorgos Papadopoulos and oenologist Marinos Ioannou.
What the experts say
Lorenzo Vecce
Nose is quite complex with floral aromas, red fruit and a meaty note underneath. Dried sage and dried violet scents open nose to fruit of little wild berries and pomegranate surrounding a main black cherry note. A shy minty hint flourish in between.
In the mouth is a medium body dry wine with a lush meaty fruit of black cherries lovely integrated within a balanced freshness and soft, sweet, delicate tannins.
Beautiful neat minerality and a pleasant lingering.
Maroulla Paul
Yartambellos is perfect for the Cyprus climate. It has all the strength and flavour of a full bodied red but once it hits your palate you are pleasantly surprised. To be drunk in its first year, but with age comes a more cooked fruit palate and aroma, a tawnier colour and some minerality.
Marinos Demetriou
Yartambellos Cask is an intense ruby red wine with distinctive pomegranate aroma with notes of vanilla and sage. Juicy raspberry with noticeable acidity and discrete vanilla notes, balanced mouth with velvety tannins. An ‘oaky’ surprise from Yartambellos ready to drink now or keep for 2-3 years.

The wine is fruit forward and lively with the pronounced flavours of red fruits and berries like aronia, pomegranate, strawberries and tart cherry followed by layers of the slightly spicy notes of cracked red peppercorn and dried sage.

I particularly like the confluence of savoury, tarry, meaty notes, alongside a lovely lifted black cherry fragrance.
